FreeBible, your mission opportunity

All of us have ordered items online. A pizza or a book, that dress, those shoes, that electronic device. For the guys at the warehouse it was just another order. For the postman, just another delivery. But for you, for me, that box made the day!

Now, picture your neighbour or your colleague at work waiting in anticipation for an item. And imagine that item was… an Adventist (sponsored) product.

Picture your friend who, in order to get that product, went through a mini-series of Bible studies — the fundamental beliefs of your church. Even more, imagine the studies were done without the involvement of any evangelist, missionary, or pastor. The person did it all by herself, step by step.

If you think that’s farfetched… just imagine the best part: you are the postman for this order. There you are, knocking on the door, and delivering it to a smiling and surprised someone

Over the last five years several thousands of such deliveries took place. But something was missing in many of the cases. Any guesses?

Let us introduce you to “FreeBible”! (What is FreeBible?)

This is an evangelistic tool powered by the Adventist Discovery Centre (formerly known as the Voice of Prophecy). In brief it works like this:

A person goes online, searching for a free Bible. Landing on www.freebible.uk, two clicks later the same user is already engaged in one of the quizzes offered on the page. As soon as she completes 10 of those essential subjects, she is indeed eligible for a free premium Bible. Thousands have done it.

When all is done and dusted, who will deliver the free Bible?

It’s always a highlight of my day to send out the Bibles, but it’s even more satisfying when the Bible is to be hand-delivered by an Adventist member. The postman won’t give a personal invitation for more study or to stay connected, but you can!

Audrey Wolfram, ADC Office Administrator

The Bible echo is unmistakable here, “Who will go for Us?” (Isaiah 6:8) And the Biblical answer just follows, naturally, in the same verse, “Then I said: Here am I. Send me.” Or, in Adventist parlance, “I will go”. (We don’t want to engage the postman anymore.)

From the ADC this is what we offer (all on us):

  • a contemporary looking website, running smoothly cross-platform and responsive on any device
  • a great offer of 28 quizzes, the essentials of our church (only 10 completions needed to qualify)
  • a free premium Bible (NIV, NKJV or other versions which we can source)
  • a free illustrated Desire of Ages for those going all the way to finish the 28 quizzes

We want to partner with you: you can freely advertise it, engage in and sponsor a FreeBible campaign in your area, and then go and deliver the Bibles yourself.

Delivering a free Bible is the perfect way to make new contacts. Believe me, I’ve delivered hundreds! People are always pleased to see you – after all, you’re delivering their prize. They might not want to talk, which is fine, but maybe they will. In which case you can talk about the Bible, how you’ve found it interesting and how it can change people’s lives. It really is easy to deliver a free Bible, so go on, give it a try.
